I have been with Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP for 23 years and have done computer training and support for the last 10 years. PC Communications came highly recommended to us 6 years ago when our Trainer/Applications Specialist for the DC and Baltimore offices joined our firm. Several years ago, when our law firm was considering leaving our WordPerfect environment and switching to a WORD environment, one of our major concerns was the transition of staff to WORD. A particular concern of the firm was the down time that would be involved. We were a WordPerfect house and the staff loved WordPerfect. They were familiar and comfortable working with WordPerfect and we knew it would be a hard sell to transition to WORD. Enter Kathy Parker!! Kathy is just the perfect teacher. She is patient, extremely articulate, can anticipate the question before it is asked and has the answer ready. She is hands-on and made everyone feel confident in their own abilities. That is one of the key points in any transition. Our staff was comfortable with Kathy. Kathy's ability to teach is evident in her explanations. She tells you why you are doing something which, in turn, makes it that much easier to learn. The staff were eager and ready at the end of their training to take off on their own. From time to time Kathy has made return visits when we upgraded and when the staff learns that Kathy will be our teacher, you can hear a collective sigh of relief.

Computer training for the law firm is a challenging task and PC Communications fulfills this challenge. When our prior trainer retired, PC Communications stepped in without missing a beat. They learned our systems and procedures and were holding training sessions for us as though they had been here for years. Everyone who has been involved in one of their classes has said how much they had learned in just a few short hours. Their trainers are all extremely knowledgeable and professional. Integrating various software products causes unique training challenges and legal systems integration in particular takes those challenges to the next level. PC Communications has been working with Potter Anderson & Corroon for the past 10 years putting together specialized training classes that include not only the core office suite stuff for beginner, intermediate and advanced users, but specialty classes on custom macros, document management integration, custom styles, document comparison and much more. To top it off not only do they assist with training but in the middle of large rollouts they are assisting our help desk staff on everything from modifying tables and mail merges to clearing printer jams.

She is well organized in the classroom and her teaching style puts even the most apprehensive students at ease. Over the past 6 years, PC Communications has assisted us with various computer training projects, the largest of which was our conversion from WordPerfect to Microsoft Word. The training curriculum was customized for our firm, with special attention given to teaching the specialized tasks we perform on a day to day basis. Both attorneys and staff attended the sessions and found the conversion to be relatively painless. There was floor support for them when they went back to their desks to help them through the initial phase. I have known Kathy for several years and was exposed to her and her training in a number of different organizations. Since joining Duane Morris at the end of 2000, we have done three major desktop rollouts. Kathy was a key part of each of them.
